We have established this special award so that the contributions of young women (ages 16-24) may also be recognized and hounoured. Nominations are being sought to recognize women from Brandon and the commuities of Westman and the Parkland for their work in fields such as, but not limited to: Agriculture, Arts, Education, Business, Public and Community Service, and Health, Sports and Recreation.

In making a nomination, nominators are not required to designate a category or field in which the nomination is being made. The selection of Awards of Distinction are not made according to category, with the exception of a woman being nominated for the Young Woman of Distinction Award. Nominators should focus on demonstrating as fully as possible (with detailed information and examples) their nominees' individual achievements, contributions to the well-being of the community and contributions as role models for other women and girls. The Selection Committee will make their decision based only on the information provided by the nominators in the nomination package. Six Women of Distinction Awards and one Young Woman of Distinction Award will be presented.
"Individual achievements" are any achievements which have been or are:

The Selection Committee is an independent group, consisting of citizens from the Westman area who are chosen to represent a variety of interests, experience, commuity involvement and age. These individuals will be identified at the dinner.
