Life Passages are also times for worship. Our minister is available to talk and plan with you in times of grief or joyous celebration. Funeral and Memorial Services that truly recognize the individual, celebrations of marriage that are personal and meaningful, baptisms and other markings of life passages can be arranged.

Weddings
Thank you for considering Young United Church as a place to celebrate your wedding.  Our desire is to make this a meaningful and rich experience for you and your family.  We perform wedding ceremonies for all who wish to celebrate their union in the presence of God, regardless of sexual orientation.  Weddings can be performed in our sanctuary or our smaller chapel.  The sanctuary can seat approximately 225, while the chapel can accommodate up to 12.

Here are the steps you should take to plan your wedding:

1. Call the church office at 783-0128 and discuss the date you desire with our office staff.
2. You would then make an appointment to meet with our minister to get to know one another and plan the service. This should happen within one month of the wedding.
3. Our music director is available to discuss music options with you. 
4. A rehearsal will usually take place prior to the wedding. This will be an opportunity to walk through the service and ask any questions you might have.  The rehearsal should be scheduled in consultation with the minister.

It is our hope that this might be a place where you can connect with a Christian community. We invite you to join us for worship any Sunday morning at 11:30AM.

Funerals

The death of a loved one can be a very difficult time.  If we can help by preparing a funeral or memorial service or just by lending a listening ear, please feel free to let us know.  Funerals can be arranged by calling the church office 783-0128 and speaking to Val, the office administrator and Noelle, our minister.  You do not need to be a member of our church to have a funeral service conducted here.

Just next to the Furby St entrance to the church we have created a beautiful, contemplative memory garden.  It is a wonderful place to sit and relax in the midst of the hustle and bustle of downtown.  This garden was created as a place for ashes to be scattered.
