Children at Young

When you bring your children to church, you assume that a safe, nurturing environment is provided for them. It is a place where our children grow in the spirit of God. It is a place where they learn the stories of Christ and apply them to their lives. It is a place where skills of leadership, discipleship, fellowship, stewardship, and citizenship are learned and practiced. At Young, we take these responsibilities seriously.

Children and youth are welcome to participate in worship on Sunday mornings.  There is a child friendly space at the back of the sanctuary especially for them which you and they can feel free to use as you wish.  Young’s children’s ministry also includes the following programs offered on Sunday mornings and throughout the week:

Sunday School Sundays at 11:30 AM

Available for children from age 3 to junior high. Most Sundays, the children gather with the congregation in the sanctuary for the beginning of the service before proceeding to Sunday School.

Nursery Care Sundays at 11:30 AM

Care is provided in our Nursery room during Sunday worship.

Junior Choir

Practices - Sundays at 10:30 AM

The Junior Choir is led by Rebecca Nelson.  She and the kids in the choir have fun learning new songs, doing a bit of drama and preparing to sing in church from time to time.  The Junior choir is open to children over the age of 3.

Youth Group Once each month

The youth group aims to meet once a month throughout the year. They participate in activities that include social, service, worship and learning experiences.

Sometimes the youth participate in special projects. Last year, for example, three of our youth traveled to Guatemala with youth from two other churches to help build a kindergarden classroom. Many youth volunteer in our Sunday School and nursery on Sunday mornings. Youth are also welcome to join the Senior Choir.
