New Hanoverian Mares Added to Breeding Program |
||
In addition to the Hanoverian mare Sabrina, fall of 2006 brings some new Hanoverian blood to our broodmare band in the form of two more Hanoverian mares. The 9 year old, Elite Mare De la Noche by Dream of Glory out of Lunika by Landrat, is a welcome addition to Crooked Creek & Woodhaven Farms. This imported mare was the Champion mare at her Mare Performance test in Eastern Canada, scoring 8s on trot & canter & 9 for rideablity. She was Champion of her FEI 5 yr old dressage competition in 2002 scoring an overall 8. De la Noche had a handsome colt by Fabuleux in 2006.
Also welcome to the 11 year old, Elite Mare Candidate Whoopi by Weltmeyer out of St. Pr. Las Vegas by Lungau. Whoopi was imported as a young mare and went on to win the 1a prize at the Spruce Meadows mare show as a Three year old. Her first foal, Millenium by Mister A, now owned by Destre Meyer, was the 2001 USDF Reserve Grand Champion yearling colt /gelding for Sport Horse Breeding and placed third in the U.S in 2002 for Two year old colts/geldings. Millenium is now competing successfully at level 3 dressage. Whoopi has since produced the Canadian Warmblood licensed CWHBA stallion, Weltklasse by Flemmingh, and two fillies including the Hanoverian yearling filly, Asia by Autocrat, being kept for future breeding purposes. Whoopi had a lovely filly by the Dutch stallion, Prestige, in 2006. Both De La Noche & Whoopi are expecting Autocrat foals in 2007. |

The yearing filly, AnnaKristina by Autocrat out of Ophra xx (by Sadler xx) is turning heads on the line class circuit this year in Ontario. This filly, bred by Carol Nasager of Cadmus County Stables, is one of only a couple of Autocrat offspring in Ontario from his first foal crop in 2005. At the July 23rd Fieldstone Farms show she won her yearling class and then went on to win the Junior championship against some top competition with offspring from sires like A Fine Romance, Sailors Spirit (by Popeye K) & Ironman. She will continue to show at the point shows on her way to the yearling division at the Toronto Royal Fair. We wish them the best of luck in the future. |
