The Winnipeg Male Chorus donated the Winnipeg Male Chorus Trophy to the Winnipeg Music Festival in 1995. The Winnipeg Male Chorus was formed in 1960 and is made up of men from across Winnipeg and surrounding communities. The Chorus objectives are "to foster and promote greater fellowship among men who enjoy singing" and "to maintain a standard of music which will add to the culture of the community and to the entertainment of its people". The Chorus regularly sings for seniors, for shut-ins, in hospitals, at community events and for those who might otherwise be unable to enjoy choral singing. This trophy is awarded for the most outstanding performance in a competition of boys with changed voices, 14 years of age & under.
