ANNIE PULLAR TROPHY

The Annie Pullar Trophy was donated to the Winnipeg Music Festival in 1941. The original trophy was presented for annual competition by winners in Winnipeg Public School Elementary Classroom Choirs. This trophy was replaced in 1966. Today, the trophy is awarded for the most outstanding performance by a School Classroom Choir, Kindergarten to Grade 3.

Annie Pullar was born in 1873 and died in 1958. She taught in Winnipeg schools for 43 years, cheerfully instilling the joy of music and singing in the hundreds of school children with whom she came in contact. She was Supervisor of Music for 33 of those years, until her retirement in 1937. Ms. Pullar contributed greatly to the organization and development of the Winnipeg Music Festival.
