Miss Edna M. Cann donated the Dr. Willis S. Prowse Memorial Trophy to the Winnipeg Music Festival in 1940. This trophy was originally given to Rural Percussion Bands conducted by a pupil. Beginning in 1946, the trophy was awarded to the most outstanding performance by a Brownie Pack. In 2003, eligible recipients were expanded to include any Service Club or Association. As of 2006, this trophy is awarded for the most outstanding performance by a School Chorus Kindergarten to Grade 6.
