Flexifoil

Sabre

The Sabre is the new depowerable foil from Flexifoil which will appeal to the vast majority of extreme kiters looking for a stable kite with fast turning speed.

The Sabre has been designed and manufactured by Flexifoil primarily for Kite Landboarding and Snow kiting. It is an open vented 4-line depowerable foil which gives it superior light wind performance and makes it very easy to solo launch and land. Flexifoil product designers have concentrated on producing a kite which has what all riders want; very stable, fast turning speed and probably the best safety system on the market.

The kite has a wide wind range which means you don’t have to change your kite so often while enjoying a session. It handles gusts well with a smooth power delivery which means you can spend more time thinking up new tricks and not have to worry about what the kite is doing.

These kites have been built to last using high quality materials and manufacturing methods which go to make up the legendary Flexifoil build quality.

The kite comes equipped with a carbon control bar that has a spinning safety system which is easy to use and highly effective, depowering the kite completely.

4-Line Tuning Tips (Blade and Bullet)

If the brake lines are too loose or too tight, your kite will not fly correctly. Make sure your four flying lines are all the same length

Brake lines too loose Brake lines too loose

If the brake lines are too loose the following may occur:
     - Lack of brake control
       - Inability to reverse kite
       - Kite will fly poorly - without much power

    Brake lines a little loose

If the brake lines are a little loose the following may occur:
       - Good control
       - Kite climbs fast
       - Less responsive brake movements

    Brake lines nearly tight

    Brake lines nearly tight

If the brake lines are nearly tight the following may occur:
       - Good control
       - Kite may hesitate to climb in light winds
       - Brakes responsive to small control movement

    Brake lines too tight

    Brake lines too tight

If the brake lines are too tight the following may occur:
       - Kite stalls or lags
       - Difficulty in launching
       - Difficulty in climbing to top of wind window

    MODIFICATIONS

    "Spider Bar"

To made a Flexifoil Blade turn faster try a "spider bar"

Get yourself 2 small pulleys (Canadian Tire, Home Depot, etc) and about 10 feet of 2mm or 3mm rope.  The pulleys can be attached directly to the power line leaders or attached at or near the ends of the bar (like in the picture).

The blue lines are power lines, green and red are brake lines.  The leash attachment point / grab handle in the middle (white loop) is optional.  To adjust the amount of brake applied during a turn - move the point at which the brake line attaches to the power line leader (on the opposite side) - Move the attachment location down (closer to the bar) for less brake - further away for more brake.  The correct position depends on how you want your kite to fly - For the fastest turning use the maximum amount of brake that still allows the kite to fly to apex (top of the wind window) easily.

Check the here for a more detailed explanation and photos for this bar set-up.
