Subdistrict #43 - Big Grass River Watershed

The Big Grass River Watershed has an area of about 647 square miles. The watershed originates on the east side of Riding Mountain at an elevation of about 2200 feet and water flows east to the Big Grass Marsh. The total drop is about 1350 feet over about 36 miles.

Key waterways in the watershed include Big Grass River, Angle Drain, Glencairn Drain, Gilmore Drain, Glenella Drain, Riding Mountain Drain, Correction Line Drain, Jumping Deere, Alonsa Drain and North Snake Creek.

This subdistrict includes portions of the RM's of Westbourne, Lakeview and Lansdowne.

The subdistrict's annual maintenance budget is about $200,000.
