Over 60 Club

Marj Suddick

Monthly Report

The over 60 club is actually a misnomer for we are really an anti-geriatric group who are very young at heart, who's mandate is to get out and enjoy socializing with other members seeking similar interests.

We conduct various activities from day trips, to social functions (such as dinners, dances, etc), to inter club visits for cards and other sporting challenges. There is something for everyone.

        Membership requirements

    - over sixty ;

          - on full time retirement; and

         - a member in good standing of St James Legion or St James Legion Ladies Auxiliary

So if you are looking for a life style change and good companionship contact our Chairperson Marj Suddick or membership chair Lee Wagner through the St James Legion Branch Office. Or better still come out to our monthly general meeting. Times are posted in the Branch newsletter where you will find further information on our activities.

We look forward to seeing you.

"Four Walls don't exist to us"

Monthly Report

Well folks, February will soon be gone, and then we turn our thoughts toward spring.
We had a very good turnout at our Feb. meeting. It seems that a number of our Seniors don't go out as much as they used to in the cold weather.
But that one day each month they come out to have lunch and then attend the meeting and chat with their friends. That's what Senior Clubs are all about. Get together with your friends.
It would be appreciated if some of our members would make a few suggestions to improve our club. "Our" Sam is really doing a good job of arranging trips.
1st- March 10th to Shooting Star
2nd- March 30th- to Thief River Falls in place of the trip to Black Bear.
Through a suggestion from Bob Harvey- Sam is going to arrange a days outing to Assiniboine Downs. Lunch and a couple of hours to play the ponies. That is an excellent idea.
Don't forget Pat's Fun Day, March 27th. Selkirk Over 60 has been invited.
Then of course the Easter Dinner is coming up April 6th.
It looks as if our Club is on the move. Hope everyone will be able to anticipate in the events.
To those who are unable to join us and to the ill, we wish you well and God Bless each and everyone.
