Another year has begun.  We’ve gone through the annual rituals, heard the shofar, cast our breadcrumb sins on the Red River , fasted and feasted.  We’ve shaken the 4 species in all directions under our Sukkah and celebrated the yearly cycle of Torah readings.  We’ve been uplifted by the music, enlightened by the words, felt connected to our Jewish roots and been generous in our support for the Temple .  Now it’s over and we’re all settling in to our familiar routines – what happens next?  Will we be active participants at Temple ?  Will we come to services, to adult ed?  Will we volunteer?  Will we encourage our friends and relatives to join us?  Will we promote our school?  Will we continue our financial support?  Will we work together to strengthen the synagogue?  Will we continue to be in touch with our Jewish Soul?  Each of us needs to take some time to think about these things so that at this time next year when the cycle starts and we once again experience the rituals, we can answer “YES!”
