Jason Spradlin, a long-time ST rider and my-mc forum participant has agreed to lead a backcountry ride for a few days leading up to FriendSToc. If you want to experience some of the best in small-town southern hospitality, you best take in this ride! It sounds like Jason's got some special things already in the works!
So, the JJJ will
begin in Georgetown, KY - about 15miles north of Lexington. Several hotels right
off the interstate at Exit 126. Lots of eatin places too - low crime so should
be no worries there - I'd MUCH rather stay in Gtown than Lex anyday.
Day 1 will start us out from Gtown and run some of the best twisties in the area
and we'll end up in West Liberty, KY. Just happened to be around the 270 mile
mark for the roads I'd like to cover. As an added bonus, that is my wife's
hometown, little small place with a Days Inn (or something like that - I'll
check it out next time I am down there). We were thinking once we get into town
we can all ride over to a house in town that my in-law's own to have a cook out.
My wife and her mom can be running the grill and have the burgers and dogs ready
when we roll into town (or whenever we want them to be). May even get my
mo-in-law to fix up some of her homemade biscuits and ham that are always a
favorite. We can mingle in the back yard, through the house watch tv and tell
lies, or sit in the rockers on the big old front porch and eat and tell lies and
watch the sun set in a small little relaxing country town. Plenty of blacktop
parking for the bikes too. I'll even crack out the 4-seater "dune
buggy", as my boys call it, and give some guided tours of the trails back
up behind the house. It'll be a good time.

Here's a
tentative schedule as discussed in the following thread:
