St. Margaret's seems to be our family's parish church, because Troy and Calyn and Rachael and Kevin all participate there on a regular basis. I was the proud Father of the Bride, wearing the regulation tuxedo, and walking our princess down the aisle. The bride was gorgeous and the groom had a smile that went from ear to ear. The Rector of St. Margaret's presided, and our oldest, Chris, presided at the nuptial Eucharist. The most exquisite music - provided by musicians from Rachael's friends and connections - undergirded the liturgy without ever overwhelming it. Later on we went to the Fort Garry Hotel for a stand-up reception of hors d'oeuvres and champagne. Heather and I were deeply moved to be surrounded with a wide network of friends, new and old.
It was a completely wonderful event. All that remains is for the newlyweds to live happily ever after! |
