I LIKE THIS
Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!/President
Written by a housewife in New Brunswick to her Local
newspaper,
This is one ticked off lady.
'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it
or was it
not started by Islamic people who brought it to our
shores
On September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened
to do so since?
Were people from all over the world, not brutally
murdered that
day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from
the nation's
Capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania?
Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die
a
horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or
didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were
claiming to
be tortured by a justice system of the nation they
come from and
are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself
in and
repents for incinerating all those innocent people on
9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the
Middle
East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere
belief of which
is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan.
I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are
sorry for
hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed
through his
gurgling slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in
Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of
disrespecting
their own religion by hiding in mosques.
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blows
themselves up in
search of nirvana care about the innocent children
within range
of their suicide bombs.
I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending
that
their freedom of speech on stories is more important
than the
lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families
waiting at
home to hear about them when something happens.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a ANA
soldier
roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain
information, know
This: I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head
when he is
told not to move because he might be booby-trapped,
you can take
it to the bank:
I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran
and a prayer
mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my
tax dollars,
is complaining that his holy book is being
'mishandled,' you can
absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:
I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's
spelled
'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack
Corn and,
You guessed it...
I don't care!!
If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all
your
E-mail friends Sooner or later, it'll get to the
people
responsible for this ridiculous behavior!
If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete
button.
Should you choose the latter, then please don't
complain when
more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen
here in our
Great Country! And may I add:
'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if
they made a
difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don't have
that
problem.'
I have another quote that I would like to add
AND.......I hope
you forward all this.
One last thought for the day:
Only four defining forces have ever offered to die
for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The Canadian Soldier
3. The British Soldier
4. The American Soldier
5. The Australian Soldier
One died for your soul, the others for your freedom.

I receives this e-mail .. it is something to think about

SPEAK UP FOR YOUR COUNTRY CANADIANS!

Bruce Allen not out
of hot water yet.
VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - Despite being given a show of
support by Vancouver 2010
organizers, embattled music
manager and CKNW editorialist,
Bruce Allen is not out
of hot water just yet as the
fallout continues from
his recent commentary indicating
immigrants to Canada
should "fit in," or "go home."
Richmond Liberal MP, Raymond Chan, is set to file an
official complaint with the
CRTC (Canadian Radio & Television
Commission) about Allen's recent
"reality check"
alleging the piece was discriminatory.
Chan is also demanding an official
apology and a
retraction of the comments.
It's time we all get behind Bruce Allen, and scrap
this Political Correctness
business. His comments were
anything but racist, but there
are far too many
overly-sensitive "New Canadians" that are trying to
change everything we hold dear.
For example, our National Anthem:
Don't know what your opinions
are, but I certainly
agree. ---
I'm sorry, but after hearing they
want to sing the
National Anthem in Hindi - enough is enough. Nowhere
or at no other time in our
nation's history, did they
sing it in Italian, Japanese,
Polish, Irish (Celtic),
German, Portuguese, Greek, or any
other language
because of immigration. It was written in English, and
should be sung word for word
the way it was written.
The news broadcasts even gave the
translation -- not
even close.
I am not sorry if this offends anyone, this is MY
COUNTRY - IF IT IS YOUR COUNTRY
SPEAK UP ---- please
pass this along....
I am not against immigration ..
just come through like
everyone else...
Get a sponsor; get a place to lay
your head; get a
job; pay your taxes; live by the rules ...AND... LEARN THE
LANGUAGE
as all other immigrants have in the past ..
and LONG
LIVE CANADA!

PART OF THE PROBLEM? Think about this: If you don't
want to forward this for fear
of offending
someone-----YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM !!!!
Will we still be the Country of Choice and still be
CANADA if we continue to make
the changes forced on us
by the people from other
countries who have come to
live in CANADA because it is the
Country of
Choice??????
Think about it!
IMMIGRANTS, NOT CANADIAN'S,
MUST ADAPT.
It is Time for CANADA to Speak up.
If you agree - pass This along.

In the Sports section, we do not have
any curlers, dart players or golfers!!!!! We only have
cribbage players thanks to Rilla Zillman. It is too later for
curling (we do have some curlers, Dennis Adams, Brian Keith, Gerry
Liske, Garth Campbell and more) so lets try to compete in darts and
golf this year. Remember it is not necessary to win it is all
about the comradeship. |

Earn The Right to Sit at a Desk
*A lesson that should be taught in all schools!*
Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a
social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock,
did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school, with the
permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building
supervisor, she removed all of the desks out of her classroom. When the
first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no
desks. Looking around, confused, they asked, "Ms. Cothren, where're our
desks?" She replied, "You can't have a desk until you tell me what you
have done to earn the right to sit at a desk."
They thought, "Well, maybe it's our grades."
"No," she said.
Maybe it's our behavior."
She told them, "No, it's not even your behavior.
And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third
period.
Still no desks in the classroom.
By early afternoon television news crews had started gathering in
Ms.
Cothren's classroom to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all
the desks out of her room.
The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats
on
the floor of the deskless classroom.
Martha Cothren said, "Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me
just what he/she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that
are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you."
At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom
and opened it.
Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniforms, walked into that
classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the
school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside
the
wall.
By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids
started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just
how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.
Martha said, "You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These
heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now, it's up to
you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good
students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have
the
freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it."
By the way, this is a true story.... If you can read this, thank a
teacher.
If you read it in English, thank a soldier.

One more day and it is New Years Eve!!
Where the heck did the year go??? That is not what I am
writing this about. It is about Friday Dec 21 and 28... No
Friday night supper. My question is why no Friday Supper???
No one to cook??? Did the executive or who ever is in charge
ask anyone? Did you think no one would come? Everyone
leaving town. I personally think there would or been 40 to 50
people there. Is that not enough, or is it better to have no
one at the branch in the evenings? Cribbage and the meat draws
went ahead on Saturday 22 and 29... less people but they still went
ahead. The bar opened up Dec 24 from noon till 6:00, on a day
which we are normally closed!!! Let's see we do not have
Friday night suppers for what ever reason but we open the Bar on a
day we are normally closed...go figure.. See ya all in the New
Year.. (If I am not barred from the legion) |

Found this on the net
JUST A COMMON SOLDIER
(A Soldier Died Today)
He was getting old and paunchy and his hair
was falling fast,
And he sat around the Legion, telling stories of the past.
Of a war that he had fought in and the deeds that he had done,
In his exploits with his buddies; they were heroes, every one.
|
And tho' sometimes, to his neighbors, his
tales became a joke,
All his Legion buddies listened, for they knew whereof he spoke.
But we'll hear his tales no longer for old Bill has passed away,
And the world's a little poorer, for a soldier died today.
|
He will not be mourned by many, just his
children and his wife,
For he lived an ordinary and quite uneventful life.
Held a job and raised a family, quietly going his own way,
And the world won't note his passing, though a soldier died
today.
|
When politicians leave this earth, their
bodies lie in state,
While thousands note their passing and proclaim that they were
great.
Papers tell their whole life stories, from the time that they
were young,
But the passing of a soldier goes unnoticed and unsung.
|
Is the greatest contribution to the welfare
of our land
A guy who breaks his promises and cons his fellow man?
Or the ordinary fellow who, in times of war and strife,
Goes off to serve his Country and offers up his life?
|
A politician's stipend and the style in which
he lives
Are sometimes disproportionate to the service that he gives.
While the ordinary soldier, who offered up his all,
Is paid off with a medal and perhaps, a pension small.
|
It's so easy to forget them for it was so
long ago,
That the old Bills of our Country went to battle, but we know
It was not the politicians, with their compromise and ploys,
Who won for us the freedom that our Country now enjoys.
|
Should you find yourself in danger, with your
enemies at hand,
Would you want a politician with his ever-shifting stand?
Or would you prefer a soldier, who has sworn to defend
His home, his kin and Country and would fight until the end?
|
He was just a common soldier and his ranks
are growing thin,
But his presence should remind us we may need his like again.
For when countries are in conflict, then we find the soldier's
part
Is to clean up all the troubles that the politicians start.
|
If we cannot do him honor while he's here to
hear the praise,
Then at least let's give him homage at the ending of his days.
Perhaps just a simple headline in a paper that would say,
Our Country is in mourning, for a soldier died today. |

The volunteer appreciation night went
over well. There were 80 to 90 out for the great supper.
President Ron Cameron thanked all the volunteers, without the
volunteer the legion could not run. So keep up the great work. |
