Community Access Program (CAP)

CAP Logo

Melita CAP Site

The Community Access program, or CAP, is an initiative of Industry Canada. CAP aims to ensure that Canadians in rural and remote communities have affordable access to the Information Highway - and to the great potential it offers for job creation and community economic development. The ultimate goal is to establish a national network of community access sites all across Canada.

The Melita community access site can be found at the Southwestern Manitoba Regional Library. The Library has two computers and access to the Internet. These computers may be used to surf the Internet. You may also use MSWorks, an encyclopedia and other informational resources which are accessible on the computer. There is always someone nearby who will be willing to lend a hand if you need help with using the Internet or the computers. Also, if you are interested in creating a web page but need some help with web page design, visit your CAP site. There you will be able to find any assistance and information you need in that venture.

The Southwestern Manitoba Regional Library is located at 149 Main Street, Melita, Manitoba. It is open from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays.

For more information, please e-mail the Library at
