Taizé Retreat: Journey into the Heart of God
Friday, Feb. 1 (7:30 pm) - Sunday, Feb. 3 (1:00 pm)
A retreat patterned on the monastic rhythm of worship, prayer and
music of the Taizé ecumenical community in France.
Taizé has created a unique style of worship and music that
is easily learned by the thousands of guests attracted to the community
each year. Taizé chants emphasize simple phrases of scripture,
repeated in order to lead the worshipers into prayer and contemplation.
In addition to chants, the candlelight services include a reading
from scripture, silence and petitions.
The retreat days will also be punctuated with short instructions
from the writing of Brother Roger, founder of the Taizé community
and time to reflect individually on the scriptures.
