St. Benedict's Foundation Inc. is a charitable non-profit organization formed for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the mission and ministries of the Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict, St. Benedict's Monastery, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It received charitable status in Canada effective January 5, 1997.

We, the Sisters of St. Benedict, invite you to share in our Mission and Vision by supporting our new Foundation, St. Benedict's Foundation, Inc. As we embrace the future we believe that living the Benedictine mission and vision wholeheartedly is a way of transforming the human community. We also recognize that we need the contributions of resources and services of others to carry out our mission.

Support to St. Benedict's Foundation can be given in a variety of ways:

• Current Gifts, such as cash and gifts in kind.
• Future Gifts, such as gifts using life insurance and bequests.
• Gifts That Give Back, such as gifts of residual interest and charitable remainder trusts.

The Sisters of St. Benedict, through their monastic life of prayer, hospitality and service have made an indelible mark on the lives of numerous people since the establishment as an independent Monastery in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1912.

They have responded to the various calls of the Church and Society by:

• building rural hospitals
• staffing parochial, private, and public schools
• providing a home for orphaned children
• administering personal care homes
• establishing an academy for girls
• providing pastoral care in parishes and personal care homes
• providing religious education in parishes, in schools and through correspondence
• serving as housekeepers and in food service
• ministering as retreat directors and spiritual guides
• providing hospitality to organizations, groups and individuals through the Retreat and Conference Centre
• providing leadership in prayer and spirituality through the development and sponsorship of Centre programs

Any gift to St. Benedict's Foundation ensures the support and continued growth of the various programs of the Monastery and the Retreat and Conference Centre. Among them are:

• Vocation Ministry and formation of new members
• Spiritual Direction and Formation of the laity
• Centering Prayer
• Heart Song Retreat (people with Aids or who are HIV positive and their caregivers)
• Retreat for the Unemployed
• Directed retreats
