Book 1
Owen, age 9: ‘It is a pretty good book, I like the characters. I liked how you used my home city’.
No name, age 9: ‘very good so far, very, very good, recommend the book’.
‘I liked this book because it has good descriptions and how you did good use of the characters’.
A Book Review by Alex, age 15: ‘I think that the book has an amazing story and it’s beautifully written. The descriptions Sonja gave made the characters seem so real and believable. My favorite character in the story was the deer Prudence. I liked how the story had twists and turns making it hard to put the book down, you always had to find out what was next. This is a book for all ages, young children, teens and adults, all would enjoy the story’.
Characters: Samantha/Sam; .a girl who ran away from home because her parents had moved from a big city to a small town’.
Sarna; ‘A spirit guardian in the form of a dog who is trying to help Sam return home to her parents’.
Prudence; ‘A deer who Sarna rescued after he was hit by a car’.
Megan age 10: Dear Sonja, I LOVED your book. A Shift in Fate was awesome. I liked the ending but I think you could of wrote a little bit about the parents reaction. So over all I liked it a lot.
Tess, age 10: ‘Dear Sonja; A Shift in Fate is a really interesting and fun book. It was very exciting and I loved the characters. But I was wondering why Lucky wasn’t on the front cover. I can’t wait until the Council comes out. Could I get that one too?’
Emma, age 10: Dear Mrs. Crawford; ‘I really enjoyed your book. My favorite parts were the ones with the wolves and the part where Len and Sam survived the crash. Will Sam be in our next book? I think it can guess how it would make a great series. In each book Sarna could get a call from a different person and they could go on a different adventure. Anyways I simply adored your book and I’m sure it will inspire millions’.
