Just Starting Fencing

If you are looking for a fencing club to start fencing, Phoenix Fencing Club has the foil class for you.  Our classes consist of:

bulletGroup learning
bulletHow to move around, forwards and backwards and attacking your opponent
bulletHow to hold and manipulate the foil
bulletHow to attach and how to defend
bulletHow to score points
bulletSimple tactics
bulletBouting and keeping score
bulletBasic refereeing - watching to see who scores a hit
bulletLearning the lingo - fencing has a descriptive language of its own

For the 2011 - 2012 Fencing Season, our introductory Yellow level programme starts at $185 per semester

For second year athletes, the Orange level programme is $320 for the full year.  Semester pricing is available.

Intermediate Athlete

bulletA mixture of Group and individual learning
bulletTargeting the Green and Blue level armbands
bulletDeveloping compound actions
bulletDeveloping advanced actions
bulletLearning basic refereeing skills and terminology
bulletDeveloping basic teaching / coaching skills
bulletThis athlete is probably a member of the MFA squad or intermediate programme
bulletor developing as an aide moniteur coach

These fees start at $320 per year

 

Advanced Athlete

bulletPrimary focus on multiple individual lessons per week
bulletTargeting the Red and Black armband levels
bulletDeveloping high level competition ability
bulletDeveloping fluidity and integration of movement at speed
bulletDeveloping towards certification as a referee
bulletDeveloping towards qualification as an aide moniteur coach
bulletThis athlete is probably a member of the MFA intermediate or high performance programme
bulletThis athlete is probably competing for a spot in the national high performance programme and national team membership
