Our venture into Katahdins began in 1990 as an addition to our commercial wooled sheep flock. We soon sold the commercial ewes and now run about 50 purebred Katahdin ewes --- some are bred Katahdin, some Dorper, and some to our Texel cross ram ( 7/8 Texel 1/8 Dorset ). The Katahdins are a great favourite due to the following attributes
Our flock is currently
registered with Katahdin Hair Sheep International. We usually have
breeding stock for sale ( ewe and ram lambs ) and the extra male lambs
are raised to 120 lbs for the heavy lamb meat market.
