A Little Knowledge Of Your Host

newstamp1.jpg (16770 bytes)Ray Smith is a 58 year old retired newspaper printer of 36 years. He began collecting worldwide stamps in 1950 in earnest and has been collecting since off and on. He joined the Winnipeg Philatelic Society in 1966 and served as president for three years helping to bring the club back to an active role in society. He served on many Stamp show committees. He joined the APS in 1968 <APS #053947> and bought many a stamp from their salesbook circuits. He remains a member of both societies. Among his country specialties are Canada <mint and used, booklets, varieties. tagging and tag errors, Centennial definitives etc>. Sideline countries are US plate blocks, Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Lundy Island, Greece, Spain, British Colonies, Australia, New Zealand, United Nations and general stamps of interest. His wife Marilyn collects Canada used nice cancels and Japan. Marilyn now operates a retail store in home city. Ray's interest in the internet began when a long time buddy dropped 35 country collections on him to dispose of which he did in 2 months on the internet. He enjoyed meeting people on the internet and satisfying their needs for stamps so much that he decided to begin a web site for collections for sale. Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, "Twice happy is the person who collects stamps for they have two worlds to live in." Any comments or ideas to enhance this web site would be greatly appreciated. We hope to have lower priced collections in the future.
