Project Feederwatch

|
The official Project Feederwatch has ended for the 04/05 season. In Project
Feederwatch you count the birds which enter your pre-determined watch area over
a 2-day period every two weeks. The final count that you record is the
maximum number of each species that was present at one time. For example, if
on Day 1 you see 2 Blue Jays all at once and on Day 2 you see 10 Blue Jays
all at once then the final count you record is 10 Blue Jays. The Feederwatch
season starts in mid November and ends at the start of Spring. Note that the
dates on the charts below designate the second count day. Also note that for
the 98/99 season I didn't get started until mid December. Rare
Birds : During the Winter of 02/03 I had a Purple Finch hanging around for
most of the Winter and for the Winter of 03/04 I had up to three Purple
Finches and three American Goldfinches until start of Jan/04. For the start
of 04/05 the Purple Finches are back for the cold season again and more in
number - 7. Ended up with 1 Purple Finch through the whole winter. |
