1968 - "The Right Hand
Side". That's me at left. More... |
I have always enjoyed music! My father played old-time fiddle and I got the
bug early. I learned accordian (like a good Ukrainian boy) when I was young
and then got an electric guitar when the "Venturers" (a guitar group in the
'60's) became popular. I've played in various local bands from junior high to,
well, ... still do! My last passion was a trio called the Rainbow Bridge Band.
My wife sings and writes, I play bass guitar and foot switches/triggers wired
to an electronic drum machine so I can "boom-chick" (play bass drum, hi-hat
and crash cymbal) with my feet as I play bass. A guitar playing friend who has
just passed away, made a trio. My wife and I still do some jobs as a duo and
sometimes with another friend The music is all original. The theme of the band
is to celebrate the North American Aboriginal way of life and culture. We mostly
play to school children and try to educate them as to what happened native people
and give them some idea of native culture.
AUDIO
I have worked as a multi-track recording
engineer and maintain a small studio at home. Audio skills are useful in my
musical career and work at Creative Retirement Manitoba. A good audio
recording of music, voice or nature sounds will always be a source of pleasure
for me.
