Winnipeg’s FourSight records debut album

Winnipeg’s very own Filipino Alternative Rock band FourSight is currently recording its debut album. Comprised by Lord Arwin Bautista (vocals, rhythm guitars), Jason Paredes (bass), Ricky Lontoc (lead guitars), and Alfred Santos (drums), FourSight looks forward to releasing the album in the summer. Entitled First Blink, it would consist of 13 original compositions plus the band’s version of Florante’s “Tayo’y mga Pinoy.” FourSight’s musical influences include Filipino artists like Mike Hanopol, Siakol, Parokya ni Edgar, and Slapshock. Winnipeg boasts of countless Filipino singers, but Manitoba is yet to see a surge of Filipino musical talents who are ready to create and release their own materials. Music—regardless of style or genre—remains an important component of culture. Thus, Foursight’s First Blink may be regarded as a significant contribution to the Filipino culture. By supporting local artists like FourSight, we become instrumental in enriching our culture. We also inspire other aspiring singers and bands to step onto the next, higher level of musicianship and artistry—that is, creating their own music.
