Pulse Fitness Systems is the world leader in developing access fitness equipment. The first prototype for a wheelchair exercise machine was produced in 1984 and the first full line of integrated ACCESS machines was sold in 1988. The mission from the outset was not just to develop exercise machines that could be used by wheelchair bound individuals, but to design a versatile series of exercise machines that could be used by all user groups. That is why we use the term Integrated Fitness to describe our line of wheelchair accessible equipment. The transition from standard use to accessible is so quick and easy that an able-bodied user can train together with his of her wheelchair bound friend as training partners. Because of the wide variety of wheelchair designs and an even wider variety of body shapes and sizes, some compromises had to be made in the design process. However, with over 20 years of research and development based on United Nations Standards we have created a series of 8 machines that can make a facility accessible without incurring excessive costs or the need to create a separate workout area for those restricted to wheelchairs. The ACCESS Integrated Fitness line allows wheelchair users the opportunity to build the strength and endurance required for a healthy, independent lifestyle on the same equipment that their friends and associates use. The ACCESS line is manufactured to the highest standards in the industry for durability and reliability. Frames are manufactured from heavy wall tubing and carry a 10 year warranty. Precision bearings, guide rods, pulleys, etc. carry a 5 year warranty. Our in-house powder coating process ensures a durable, good looking finish in a colour that matches your existing equipment.
