The originals of two manuscripts attributed to José María Pavón y
Araguro were destroyed in World War II but copies exist:
Las
antiguas Leyendes de la Isla de Negros. (The Ancient Legends of the Island
of Negros). Two volumes, 1838-1839. Typed transcript copies are at the
University of the Philippines, the University of Florida and in private
collections in Manila. Photographs of three original pages were published in The
Philippine History Quarterly, vol.1, no.1 (1919)
Los
Cuentos de los Indios de esta Isla. (The Stories of the Indians of this
Island). 1838. An annotated English translation was published in The
Roberson translations of the Pavón manuscripts of 1838-1839, Philippine
Studies Program Transcripts No. 5a-d. (Chicago, 1957).
