Dagdag, Edgardo E. Kasaysayan at Pamahalaan ng Pilipinas. Mataas na Paaralan, Serye ng Araling Panlipunan, Unang Edisyon, (History and Government of the Philippines. High School, Social Studies Series, First Edition), Trinitas Publishing Inc. Quezon City, 1997. p. 24. – English translation of quote by Paul Morrow.

Note:
Although the author of this book gave only the most minimal acknowledgement to Henry Scott's work, he did allow a little more space for two recent origin theories of the Filipino population – but only after giving a full description of Dr. H. Otley Beyer's now obsolete wave migration theory.

Also, it may be wrongly inferred from the quote shown here that ancient Filipinos worshiped a single deity called "Diyos" or "God", but the only monotheists in the Philippines at that time were the Muslims. Most ancient Filipinos, including Visayans, were in fact ancestor worshippers and animists who revered many natural objects and animals as supernatural entities. It is plainly evident in the Code that even the mythical Kalantiaw was an animist.
