Bad Radio

"I thought that, given the state of radio at the time, our music would never make it to the airwaves. The name 'Bad Radio' comes from that line of thought -- Dave George

Bad Radio was formed back in 1986 and ended in 1990. However, the main focus of Bad Radio was during 1988-1989 when Eddie Vedder joined in to replace vocals, Keith Wood (whom would return in 1989). During this time, while Eddie was doing vocals, the band was also made up of 3 others. They were Dave George (Guitar), Dave Silva (Bass), and Joey Poncehtti (Drums).

Bad Radio has recieved more fame in the recent years then it did back in the late '80s. This is probably because of each member's greater fame, especially Eddie Vedder's. Few people outside the southern California area knew them, but now, almost every Pearl Jam fan has some knowledge of Bad Radio's former existence.

Eddie Vedder soon left the band in 1989 saying, "I had just broken up with a band, Bad Radio, mostly because of the lack of ambition on the other members' parts."

Bad Radio has some really good songs. I'm sure they could have made it big had the rest of the band been more ambitious. Though, its probably a good thing they didn't succeed, or else we wouldn't have the fantastic music of Pearl Jam which we're thankful to have today.
