Osborne Village, on the south side of the Assiniboine River, was an affluent suburb of early Winnipeg.  In the late 1960s,  what was to become one of Winnipeg's most dynamic and eclectic shopping districts began as a small shopping area with a distinctive Bohemian flavour.
