FOR WORK, SHOW, OR JUST BECAUSE WE LOVE THEM...
LORNA & GARTH MUIR...ST. ADOLPHE, MB. CANADA

We have been involved with Alaskan Malamutes since 1975; we carefully chose from a kennel that had a working background since temperament and working ability were very important to us. A decision that we have never regretted !! Since then we have never looked back and have been privileged to own some wonderful dogs. Our goals in breeding have always been to breed a sound, typy, good tempered dog and to keep the excellent working attitude we started with.
We have been active in all aspects of working our dogs; racing, weight pulling, packing and winter camping excursions; where the Malamute excels at pulling heavy sleds over long distances.
In the obedience ring we have produced many titled dogs. Our Malamutes have a want to please you type temperament, that make them easy to work with working dogs as well as great family members.
In the ring Oopik has had numerous Best In Show Winners, Best Puppy In Show Winners, Group Winners, and Group Placers all owner handled with very limited showing. We are the proud breeders of the first malamute to win a First In Group and Best In Show In England; and the first female to take a First In Group in South Africa.
Once you decide
that the Alaskan Malamute is the right breed for you like many before you
, you will probably be hooked for life. They are wonderful, intelligent,
strong willed, loving dogs who need to be treated as part of the family.
Mals are always ready to try something new, we always say the" more activities
you do with them the better they are ". Some of the activities that
you can get involved with include; sledding, packing, skijoring, weight
pulling, obedience & agility .
