B.C.A. Seven-A-Side Indoor Rules

Games shall be played under M.C.C. Laws and B.C.A. Local Rules except where specified below.
1. Each team shall comprise of 7 players and each game shall consist of one inning per team, each inning to be of 21 (Six Ball Over) duration.
2. The batting side shall be divided into pairs with each pair batting six overs and changing at the end of the 6th, 12th, and 18th overs. The single batter shall bat 3 overs only.
3. Each player on the fielding side must bowl at least one over (except the wicket keeper). No player shall bowl more than 4 overs (except in event of rule 17 where the bowler shall bowl 5 overs and 6 overs).
Note:
a) The player that starts the game as a wicket keeper has to remain in that position for the remainder of that inning.
b) Any player except the wicket keeper not bowling at least one over in a game cannot bat. Any player batting must bowl at least one over.
4. Batters shall have unlimited "lives" but each life shall result in a two run deduction from their total. The Batters shall change ends at the fall of each wicket, at the end of each over and if failing to score off three successive deliveries. NOTE: (i) At the fall of a wicket the out going Batter goes to the bowlers end; (ii) if a Batter is out in the last ball of an over, he/she then changes ends and stays at the bowlers end for the beginning of the next over.
5. Runs are scored:
a) A Batter who strikes the ball so that it hits the side wall is given two runs and one run for a successful crossover. If the ball is hit to the far wall, (front wall) 4 runs are scored. Any runs actually run by the Batter will be added to the Batter's boundary. Also, if the ball is hit to the back wall one run is given.
b) The Batter may run on an overthrow.
c) There are no bye/leg bye in this competition, however a Batter can be out, run out, if attempting a run on a bye or leg bye.
6. The Bowler's run up shall be limited to ten (10) yards.
7. Any ball passing above the Batter's shoulders in his normal batting stance shall be counted as a no ball. In addition, any ball which passes the thirty inches line outside the off stump and the twenty inches line outside the legstump and behind the Batter shall be counted as a wide. A penalty of one (1) run shall be added to the batting side's score and an extra ball shall be included in the over.
8. A penalty of one (1) run shall be added to the batting side's score for a no ball which is not otherwise scored off. An extra ball shall be included in the over.
9. The winning team shall be the side scoring the higher number of runs after deduction for the fall of wickets. In event of a tie, the winner shall be:
a) The side losing the fewest number of wickets or,
b) If both sides are out the same number of times, have the same number of runs, the match will be decided on Run Rate based on the first 12 overs of each inning.
c) In even of any discrepancy concerning the fixtures, rules, etc., the B.C.A. Tournament committee shall make the final decision.
10. A ball hitting the front, side, or back wall and then being caught will be NOT OUT.
11. The Batter strikes the ball (with the bat) so that it hits the back wall is given ONE RUN.
12. A Batter will be given out if he/she hits the ball on the ceiling of touching the ceiling
13. If the Batter strikes the ball above the blue line no run is given. However, if the Batter is out of his/her crease he/she can be given out RUN OUT.
14. Only two players are allowed to field alongside the front wall (one player at mid on and one player at mid off).
15. Fielding team must have a wicket keeper who is required to wear gloves and pads.
16. No game shall commence with less than 5 players also a minimum of 15 overs must be bowled for a game to be valid.
17. If a team has 5 players, that team is allowed to bat 15 overs only (1st pair, 6 overs, 2nd pair, 6 overs, and last Batter, 3 overs with the aid of a runner). 5 overs maximum to a bowler.
18. If a team has 6 players, that team is allowed to bat 18 overs only (1st pair, 6 overs, 2nd pair, 6 overs, and 3rd pair 6 overs) also each bowler is allowed to bowl 5 overs maximum.
19. If a team failed to show up for a scheduled gamed, the opposing team will be awarded 6 points.
20. Any team that is 10 minutes late for a game will automatically lose the toss.
21. If two ore more teams have the same number of points at the end of the league, the team with the highest run rate in the interlocking game between then shall be the winner.
22. Players must wear acceptable cricket apparel. In case of disputed cricket apparel, the umpire will consult with the player's captain and then make the final decision.
23. Player(s) cannot switch to another club after the start of the season.
24. Only registered members, who have paid the fee of $20.00 may participate in the league competition.
25. Players of age 14+ may play indoor cricket.
26. Each team must complete the Team Declaration list and give it to the umpire before the game starts. The declared players cannot change thereafter.
27. At anytime during the game, any team responsible for delay of the game will be subject to the following penalties (except for injuries).
a) A delay of 6 to 7 minutes will result in the loss of one over or six (6) runs.
b) Teams responsible for late start will automatically lose the toss and six (6) runs or an over.
Note: The calculation of the lost of time will be accumulative until the inning is closed.
c) Example of Delays of Play
a) Mid Wicket conference by batters.
b) In going batters failed to get at the wicket (Batting/Bowling/Crease) in time.
c) Players/Teams delay play to check the score sheet from umpires.
30. All games must finish on time, umpires must check to see if there are enough time remaining in the inning (time slot), before proceeding with the final over of the game.
