Bille August is a renowned Danish film director and has created several memorable and critically praised movies. He is the recipient of two Golden Palms at the Cannes Film Festival for Best Picture - Den Goda Viljan (the Best Intentions) in 1992, and Pelle Erobreren (Pelle the Conqueror) in 1987. His other films include The House of Spirits (also produced by Bernd Eichinger) starring Jeremy Irons and Glen Close, and Jerusalem. His next project is a film version of Victor Hugo's masterpiece "Les Miserables".
