Prices for Painting Miniatures

Below are some example prices for painting miniatures.  All prices are in US dollars and do not include the cost of the model, or shipping costs.  If you live in Canada, you have the option of paying prices in Canadian dollars.

Example Prices:

Most of these prices assume you'll be wanting groups of models painted.  If you have less than the minimum number to be painted, prices start at $25 for models on foot, or $40 for mounted models.  These prices assume the models are 28mm or 30mm (i.e. Warhammer scale).

Figure on foot (price assumes a minimum of 10 models):

$12-$16
Mounted figure (price assumes a minimum of 5 models):

$20-$30

"Monster"-sized figure (e.g. trolls, ogres, etc, assumes minimum of 3 models):

$30-$60
Chariot, tank, or similar war machine: $60-$100

Mounted "special character" models (e.g. Tyrion, Archaon, Carnosaur):

$100+

Greater demon or dragon: $125+

All prices are for high quality paint jobs (such as you'd find in the Gallery section), with multiple layers of shading/highlighting..  

All prices include:

-Assembly (nearly all joins are pinned, and glued with epoxy). 

-Basing (as you'd see in the Gallery, with sand, static grass or even "snow").

-DullcoteTM varnishing.  If you want more than one layer of vanish for extra durability, there is a small extra charge per model.

Prices do not include:

-Any extra freehand work.  There is a minimum $1 charge for freehand work.  "Freehand" refers to any painting that is not part of the detail that is actually sculpted into the model (e.g. flames, text, squad markings, etc).

-Conversion work.  Prices vary greatly.  There is a minimum $5 charge for any conversion.

-Shipping.  In the USA, expect to pay $5 for single models and $10-20 for groups. 

All work is based on quotes.  If you're interested in having miniatures painted, please contact us for a quote at distantlight at gmail.com .  Include the following information, if possible:

-which miniature(s) you want painted, and how many

-whether or not you want a quote that includes the cost of the miniatures, or if you are sending some of your own models

-what colour scheme you have in mind

-which country you live in
