Painting Pricing by Feature (PPF)

Interested in saving some money?  Wondering what exactly you're paying for?  Here's a step-by-step breakdown of what each "step" in the process of painting a miniature is valued at.  Please note this only applies to "rank and file" (i.e. groups of 5 or more) models.

How to read this chart:  Choose which features you want, add up the cost, and that's how much you'll be paying per model. 

If an entry says "variable", that means the price for this feature will vary depending on the exact model.  For example, a High Elf spearman shield would cost $2, while a Skaven or Goblin shield would be $1.  If an entry says "not optional", that means you'll always have to pay for that feature (e.g. your models can't be painted until they're assembled first!).

Important:  You still have to ask for a quote, since some areas of the pricing formula are variable.  But this will give you a good idea of how much you'll be paying.  When you email and ask for a quote, please mention "PPF Quote" in the subject line or we'll just assume you want all features.

Example:  Let's say you have some plastic goblins to be painted. They don't have to be the best possible job, but you still want them to look decent.  So you choose one layer of highlights, but skip the eyes, static grass, and decide you'll varnish them yourself.  So you pay a total of:  

Assembly:  $2

Basing with sand:  $0.25

Priming:  $0.50

First layer of paint on entire model:  $4

First layer of highlights:  $2

Shield:  $1

Total:  $9.75 per model.
