| 1 POUND REGULAR GROUND BEEF (454g) | ½ CUP ROLLED OATS (125ml) |
| 1 CUPS MULTIGRAIN CEREAL (250ml) | 1/4 CUP WHEAT GERM (62ml) |
| 2 TBSP VEGETABLE OIL ( 30 ml) | 2 TBSP. FLAX OIL (30ml) |
| 3 TBSP. MOLASSES (45ml) | 1 BEATEN EGG (Large) |
| 1 ENVELOPE KNOX GELATIN | 1/4 TSP GARLIC SALT |
Cereal can be any basic Multigrain cereal - like Total . Coarsely crush cereal by hand or with a rolling pin.
For the oil, you can use half and half Flax and Vegetable oil or all vegetable oil if you prefer
Mix all ingredients together like a meatloaf. Roll into small meat balls and place on cookie sheet. Freeze. When frozen, transfer to Ziplock freezer bags. Thaw a few daily to feed. Feed 3 - 4 a day as a supplement to kibble. If you are feeding nothing else, they may need more.
Note - Satin Balls are fed raw. The ingredients are very digestible and provide a good mix of protein, carbohydrate and fat as well as vitamins. These are great to feed a dog recovering from surgery, illness or trauma or when you need to tempt an appetite. A word of caution - pay close attention to your dogs' condition and weight as Satin Balls can really pack on weight.
