About the program...

The purpose of the Manitoba Weather Program is to encourage cooperation between agencies in order to maximize the amount of good quality weather data that is available.  Through sharing of information and resources, more groups will be able to use this information to make more informed decisions and better use of the resources that are available.

MB Weather/Climate Workshop...

On December 1, 2005, several organizations with interests in Manitoba weather gathered to share and discuss the status of weather monitoring in Manitoba.  Some of the main points that were expressed included the need for increased weather monitoring, better access to raw data, and the need for cooperation between agencies.

At the end of the day, there was a panel discussion which invited the speakers and the audience to share their views.  There was a consensus that it would be beneficial to establish a formal working group to address some of these issues.
