Chester is an Irish Setter. He came to live with me in November 2003 when he was approximately 7 months of age. We estimate his birthday to be May 1, 2003.
He was obtained by a family in Minnesota when he was a tiny 5 weeks of age. For some reason, he was kept in the back yard all day and brought in to spend the night in a crate at night. He was never house trained or socialized, but luckily they realized that this could not continue during the Minnesota winter, so they turned him into an Irish Setter rescue when it started to get cold. I had not been considering a trip to Minneapolis, but decided that I had to have him so I took a weekend off work and headed down to get him. It had been many years since my first Irish Setter, Red had passed onto the Rainbow Bridge.
Chester loves to run. It is difficult to get pictures of a moving object, so many of my pictures of him are a little blurry.
