What does it look like through a magnify glass? Today the Trackers dug into their pack and started using some of the tools we have provided them. Their instructions were to "Expore the small stuff". Each Tracker took their magnify glass and expored nature at a smaller level. They found small bugs on the trees, and saw a close up of a blade of grass. It's amazing to watch them go when you give them a project. You can just see their little minds going.

Can you hear the frogs? The trackers could, so we went looking for eggs in the pond out back. The kids were out looking two weeks ago and did not see a thing, this week the pond was hopping with life. We found three groups of frog eggs in the very early stage and will check every week for development from black specks to tadpoles to frogs. When we put the eggs up to magnifying glass we could see hundreds of dots in a clear gel. We have an outing coming up June 8, to see baby goats arrive, it should be amazing. Keep an eye out for us at the upcoming fair in Dugald as the trackers strut their new jackets and share there experiences thus far.

Over the weekend we were lucky to come across a Snake in the yard. Since we had Trackers on Tues we decided to hold onto him for a few days. This was just fine with the youngest Tracker Tiana as she became quite attached to the little thing. She would feed him and carry him everywhere. Tues the Trackers took turns holding it and even got to see him eat. We learned all about there feeding habits and defensive actions. We are eagerly awaiting our next encounter with these slithery little critters. We believe we have a small snake pit on the property that we will watch carefully.
