CHICKENS OF THE 10 ACRE WOODS
All the chickens enjoy daily rations of berries picked by the kids. We keep all the chickens and ducks in a compound together to promote socialized animals. They are also located next to rabbits and everyone interacts daily. When the yard grows so will the number of animals in this compound. I find it very relaxing to see them all together.

Here you see our Isa Brown rooster, he has turned into a large boy. It seems he can not find his voice yet, he leaves the noise making up to our other rooster, but does do most of the breeding.

Picture 2

This little rooster is the one that makes all the noise. He is from the Barred rock breed, any chance he gets he will make noise. Even to argue with my husband.

Picture 3

This little lady is a Black sex link, she has a tendancy to follow you around ,but do not look at her or she will run away.

Picture 4

This picture shows a Leghorn along with a Muscovy duck, We have found that the Leghorns are very interested in poeple. Our Leghorn will jump on your shoulder to get a good look at the snack for the day.

Picture 5

This is one of the many Isa Brown hens walking the woods here. They are very content and appreciate a tasty fly here and there. One of the things you will see my husband doing now and then.

Picture 6

This little lady is our Barred Rock hen. She is very devoted to laying a different size egg every day, from extra small to "How do I fit that in a container?".
