Many Christians are deeply concerned and totally puzzled by the rampant decay in the moral structure of today’s society. Every time one turns around it seems another bastion of morality is being attacked and destroyed by yet another minority demanding its rights.

In the 1960’s the very existence of absolute right and absolute wrong were assailed in the name of freedom. Even prominent theologians undertook to undermine the authority of God in the Holy Scriptures. The likes of Bishop J.A.T. Robinson of England, Bishop Pike of the USA and Harvey Cox undertook to refute the supremacy and oneness of Almighty God by challenging the long adhered to tenets of Holy Scripture and Social Life in Christ. Theologian/Philosophers such Joseph Fletcher challenged the absolute nature of right and wrong and attempted to make everything relevant and relational to individual situations in specific time and space.

Along with the influence of the secular humanists and the demands of atheistic and agnostic groups they worked together to remove absolute concepts that God had established for the life of humankind from the beginning of time.

It was not long before the so-called pro-choice lobby had forced the door ajar and made it possible, under circumstances where the health of the mother was at risk, to have a legalized abortion. The law was so written in 1969 that, subject to a panel agreeing that such was the case, a woman could have an abortion legally in a hospital at public expense.

It was not long until the "pro-choice" groups were lobbying to have the definition of "health" opened to include physical and mental health. From there it was a short step to define mental health as anything that would cause unhappiness in the life of the mother and life threatening extended to include quality of life being demeaned. The next step was to make it a political right of any woman to have an abortion based upon simple desire not to have the child she had conceived. By 1988 the Supreme Court of Canada, totally lacking in any concept of morality or right to a protected life, struck down the abortion law in its entirety. Since then, millions of unborn children have been destroyed in the unfettered holocaust of Canadian self-centredness and total unencumbered depravity. The concept of no absolute right or wrong or structure of absolute values allowed the so-called justices of the Supreme Court to openly defy God’s View of the Sanctity of Human Life by declaring that a child is not human until it is born. And of course, in its own eyes, the Supreme Court of Canada stands above the Will of the God of all Creation.

In like manner, the vision of upright and proper expression of God’s Gift of Human Sexuality has been eroded. With the advent of "the pill" in the late 1950’s, and despite the thalidomide scares that ensued, the door to "free sex" was opened. The concept of human sexuality being a Gift of God reserved for the propagation of the race and the mutual enjoyment of one man and one woman in the Holy bonds of Matrimony was made out to be a passé concept. Sexuality, in a world of no absolute right and wrong, was changed into an act undertaken as an expression of love and enjoyment between any two people at any time.

Joseph Fletcher and his kindred spirits had much to do with this alteration of God’s expressed Will in His Divinely inspired Scriptures. The rightness or wrongness of sexual contact was defined by mutual enjoyment in situations where no other was being hurt or deprived.

The door was open and society ran through it into a hellhole of destroyed emotions and wrecked relationships. Further, not only were people and their relationships violated and ruined but also the so-called "freedom" of open sexual expression produced totally unexpected consequences in terms of incurable sexually transmitted diseases.

The strange thing is that society, now wallowing in the consequences of unmitigated sin and squalor, responds by attempting to give people a "more healthy vision of sexuality." Children are taught in school that sex is great and it is all right not to wait for marriage. And our generally corrupt governments are urged to spend more money finding cures for the diseases caused by this rampant disregard for morality rather than returning to the righteous morality that would keep such diseases under control.

It seems that are governmental officials are lapping up and personalizing this plunge into immorality. Anything that is criminal, such as the use of drugs is being legitimized or minimised. There is attempt now to decriminalize the use of marijuana, as substance that has been proven to cause considerably more health damage than the nicotine and other substances found in cigarettes. And, as if the health situation was not enough, the usage of such "soft" drugs has been clearly shown to lead to the use of far more severe and mind-blowing hard drug. Yet, while undertaking a campaign against cigarettes and tobacco manufacturers, our governments are taking opposite steps in the area of that which is far more dangerous. It is enough to make one wonder what these politicians are using or what ulterior motives are lurking behind these moves.

Further, society is walking the degenerate road of disrespect for the values that have characterized human society since the beginning of time. Failing to learn from the histories of those societies that have tried to go the same ways in the past, modern day Canada is turning from righteous morality in order to walk in the satanic avenues of depravity. Under the guise of being multicultural minorities are given "rights" that undermine time honoured values and societal structures. Human sexuality is reduced to nothing more than taking pleasure at the expense of moral values, physical health, and mental health. Minority groups demand and receive "rights" that fly in the face of the majority of Canadians who still hold to the foundation of Judaic/Christian values. Schools are encouraged to openly teach values and structures that oppose the family and faith based values of the homes of students. Holding to the Divinely Inspired Holy Scriptures where they oppose society is frowned upon, ridiculed, and, in some cases, even being made potentially illegal.

And, oddly enough, especially in the area of human sexuality and the sanctity of the family, even the Church leadership is taking self-destructive actions. The United Church of Canada has already taken steps to recognise non-scriptural sexual relationships as being normal and an alternative lifestyle. Further, the family is no longer necessarily a husband and a wife with their children. All forms of humanistically driven relationships are being touted as valid family relationships under whatever god they are purporting to worship. And now the Anglican Church in Canada, under its liberal politically correct leadership is beginning to walk away from the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in to the realm of the god of humanism by trying to validate illicit sexual relationships and to establish alternative forms of marriage that they are deceptively calling "blessings." The god of this world is becoming the object of worship replacing the one True God Who showed Himself to us and provided s salvation for us through the Incarnation, Life, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension of His Only Begotten Son, God in the Flesh, Jesus the Christ!

It is time for Canadians to take a good look in the mirror and decide whether or not their desire is that this country be guided by the degenerates of society or by the values desired by the majority of that society. The Ottawa Citizen recently asked if we understood the makeup of those governing and making the laws for our society. IN asking this question that newspaper published the following question and facts:

"Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 300 employees and has the following statistics:

30 have been accused of spousal abuse

9 have been arrested for fraud

14 have been accused of writing bad checks.

95 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

4 have done time for assault

55 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit

12 have been arrested on drug related charges

4 have been arrested for shoplifting

16 are currently defendants in lawsuits

62 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year

Can you guess which organization this is?

It is the 301 MP's in the Canadian Parliament. The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws designed to keep the rest of us in line.

Which one did you vote for?

And NOW we can add Mr. Campbell to the list and make that

63 for drunk driving!!"

Add to this the court decisions being made in this country and one can become extremely alarmed. The family is under attack as a sacred institution of God. The concept of human sexuality is being openly violated, debased, and led into forms of debauchery that mimic the falleness of our elected leadership. The value of human life is reduced and even negated while righteous stands are made for "endangered species" of animals. Business and farm incomes are made light of by government incompetents who have a track record for the destruction of their own attempts at the same.

It is certainly time for Christians to stand up and demand the return to the righteousness of God and the upholding of a moral society. While Christians need to learn from their own errors of the past, it is time to reject the put downs of faith and morality and to demand the respect that those who follow Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord deserve and need. It is the responsibility of Christians to demand that the school systems uphold with respect the stances that are held in Christian homes.
