Paul Bruce's 1966 Coupe

This is Paul Bruce's 1966 from Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. A long term project; the word awesome does not even begin to describe this car. It's ultra straight and covered with super glossy custom mixed clearcoat purple. Corvette 15" rally rims with fat rubber really set off the muscle car look. The full interior has Dodge Charger seats reupholstered in black and purple cloth. The front spoiler is a flawless custom made item. You can't see the quick rack and pinion steering conversion, but trust me, it's there.

Paul runs an air conditioning, alarm, and stereo shop. The front trunk space is ideal for stereo equipment... The big subwoofer uses the whole trunk space as its enclosure with a custom fiberglass cover. It's not really open to the trunk, it has a thick Plexiglas cover over it. The ductwork channels the big sound into the cabin down between the passenger's toes. Note the unique heater setup!

And here's why that unique heater setup in the trunk! The Oldsmobile 455 Toronado drivetrain is shoehorned neatly into the rear, leaving a full back seat (we went for a cruise with 4 in the car). The low profile air cleaner just fits under the air grille behind the rear window. The custom headers cross over behind the engine, the left exhaust exits under the right side, the right exhaust under the left side. Lots of custom stuff in here! The radiator is up front under the same cover that creates the enclosure for the subwoofer, and opens to a space under the bumper and over the spoiler. All this stuff works extremely well together; to the point that a nice new Z28 got a good view of the rear plate disappearing into the distance the night I got a ride.
