The 15th Annual
Muddy Waters 100 Century ride was on Sunday August 10, 2008. It was another huge
success. Over 200 riders took part and enjoyed a great ride. Come and join hundreds of
other cyclists in the 16th Annual Manitoba "Muddy Waters 100" bike ride.
The ride date
for 2009 is Sunday August 9. Thank you to
the volunteers who helped out at the Rest Stops at Selkirk, Bird's Hill Park,
Hyland Park and to the First Aid staff. Muddy Waters is run by volunteers. We always need more to help out for the day of the ride. If you or know someone who could help out please contact us via mbmuddywaters@hotmail.com Please make sure your bike is in top mechanical condition for this ride. You are responsible for repairs and/or flat tires. Services will not be available. The routes will start just north of Winnipeg at Hyland Park on Henderson Hwy. located 2 km north of the Perimeter Hwy. on the west side. From this starting point the ride will proceed throughout the Lockport, Selkirk, Birds Hill and Cooks Creek area. (depending on route chosen) The cost includes rest stops with refreshments and end of ride food and drink. For the 2009 Ride the cost will be $20 in advance (includes a high quality T-shirt) or $15 Day of event (NO T-shirt included). Note: If you are pre-registering and want the free t-shirt the entry must be received by August 3, 2009
Participants will have a choice between a 100 mile, 100 kilometer, and a 55 kilometer ride. (great distance for the novice or casual rider)
Parking will be available for a limited number of vehicles in the parking lot on the
east side of Henderson Hwy. across from Hyland Park, or in the park itself for vehicles that have a Provincial Park Pass (Note: fine for cars not displaying a pass)

Entry forms are available at better local bike shops or the MCA office, room 309 - 200 Main Street, or use the printable pamphlet entry form All traffic regulations MUST be obeyed. Cyclists will be required to wear a helmet conforming to CSA, ANSI, or SNELL standards. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be asked to leave if you have no helmet. The route will be patrolled. All traffic control signs MUST be obeyed. |
