As the group gets near the crash site, a deputy is blasted by the alien, and a raging battle ensues between the humans and the beast. Soundtrack - 3 Sticks of Butter

Now this movies musical score is something to remember! Unlike Motel Hell's soundtrack I noticed the soundtrack for Night Beast. It reminded me of something Leslieb would use in a Remix for the song ZombieD. I thought it was something a person could really dig. The score used a wide variety of instruments and notes, and sounded in an almost Jaws-like fashion whenever danger neared!

Plot - 2 Sticks of Butter

This movie was more of a special effects extravaganza than plot-fest 2000. Indeed the movie never did explain the Night Beast, but the ultra cool fight scenes made it worth watching to the end.

Action - 4 Sticks of Butter

The movie begins quite action packed, with a laser vs shotgun battle almost right away. The Night Beast's laser disintegrator ray gun was both a fashionable accessory for the well designed creature, and also worked on eliminating its enemies.

Effects - 3 Sticks of Butter

I really enjoyed the special effects for this movie, my only problem would be that they dwindled towards the middle of the movie, but don't worry the end is a real humdinger! It really must have cost their entire budget to put that last scene together so don't let the lull in eye candy stop you from finishing this flick. The Night Beast's costume was rather nifty but it did sort of remind me of a gorilla mask with the hair shaved off, but that might just be me.

Characters - 3.5 Sticks of Butter

The cast was fabulous! From the tough and sinister Drago, to the lovable sheriff Jack (who reminded me of someone who should reside in the Brady household). While I thought Steven - one of the doctors - who seemed quite masculine and attractive, I did not like his colleague who was too meek in my mind. The deputy surprised me towards the middle of the movie - I would say why but I do not want to spoil it for you.

Overall Impressions - 3 Sticks of Butter

While I loved the action and thought that the casting for the sheriff was the absolute best I was not overly thrilled with the plot, I enjoy having a background to my cheese. I would have liked to have seen an origin for the Night Beast, and I was rather miffed that he came out at times other than at night...this contradicts the name of the movie I think. Although fans of action and great special effects would get the most out of this film I believe that it is a must see for everyone because of the chemistry between all of the characters.
