Soundtrack - 2.5 Sticks of Butter

The movie does not have a memorable soundtrack, it was nothing special but the musical score did not detract from the movie. I believe the plot did that job fine by itself.

Plot - 1.75 Sticks of Butter

Killer corn, a religious cult from years ago, a young woman visiting her elderly grandmother. Sounds interesting? Well, Revelation surely doesn't take these elements and incorporate them into a semi-intriguing story. Lacking in intelligent dialogue and situations this movie was barely able to keep my attention let alone draw me into the story.

Action - 3 Sticks of Butter

Oh this movie had action! If you consider corn action packed and babysitting thrilling. Unpack your Super Nintendo and popcorn popper so you can breath easily in this apartment of horrors.

Effects - 1 Stick of Butter

What effects? The corn? Well, that's not very hard to pull off. Mr. Dressup taught us how to make trees out of old newspapers. So anyone who watched the children's show would be able to emulate the look of corn with great ease. As for the very end they must have shelled out some serious coinage for such grade "A" effects.

Characters - 1 Stick of Butter

The characters were dull and hard to believe. I would have throttled those children not feared them. The only good character was the guy who worked at the corner store.

Overall Impressions - 2.25 Sticks of Butter

I wasn't thrilled with the story behind the first Children of the Corn movie, but Revelation was worse by far. The only revelation I had was that they should stop making these movies! The evil children barely spoke and those bloody corn stalks kept popping up everywhere. Now corn might be scary to someone who hates vegetables but that's about it. The main "demonic" villain said like two words through out the entire movie and only showed up at the end.

If you're one of those people who has to see an entire series then I suppose you'll want to watch this movie (and actually endure it until the end) otherwise leave it on the shelf and rent Sleepless in Seattle, it'll be more interesting.
