THE LEATHERS FAMILY

In Order of Importance

According to Gord

This would be me, Gord the patriarch. I am a freelance writer/photographer and I play bass for Wanted Man, A Tribute To The Man In Black which is a Johnny Cash tribute. I'm also a veteran of such acts as The Porch Climbers, Doghouse and The Leathers Brothers.

I have a science degree from the University of Winnipeg with a double major in Biology and Physical Geography and I have a diploma in journalism from Red River Community College and a freelance writing business with a focus on agriculture and ag science. For more information on all that you can logon to my own website.

This is my wife Shelagh. We met at University in 1980 and were married in 1984. She did her degree in Classics and Anthropology but thought one course in geology would be interesting. She got a science credit, a boyfriend and kept both.

Our son Jeremy is in Grade nine. He's playing volleyball this year and running cross country. He's playing trumpet in the band for another year. I guess this is also the year that adolescence officially starts.

Daughter Erin is our youngest. She's now in Grade seven. She's finished guides and is now starting pathfinders. She'll still be playing in the school band and will continue playing trombone in the jazz band but will begin playing french horn in concert band.

Jessie is the newest member of the family. She was born at Jurhaus Kennels on July 10th, 2001. I brought her home on September 7th and she sang all the way home in the car where I held her on my lap. I couldn't possibly do that now since she's the size of a small Shetland pony.

In spite of her size she's a lovely, sweet dog and a favourite of the neighborhood kids who happily walk past the Beware Of Dog sign and she greets them warmly.

If you've taken the time to visit we'd love to hear from you.
