Biography
Deon Wysocki is quirky retro pop-rock with a twist of reggae and ska.  He also helps produce aspiring young talent and occasionally rocks out with The Guess Who's Bill Wallace.

His latest effort "The Computer Killed Rock n Roll" is a skankin' tribute to the death of rock 'n roll, full of all the playful cynicism, civil disobedience and hooks you'd expect from Deon.

Throughout his songs Deon regularly pokes fun at himself, modern day pop clichés and even his audience from time to time. He also writes about growing up in Winnipeg's tough Point Douglas area, getting burned, friends lost and love learned.

"The Computer" is the follow up album to Deon's highly acclaimed 2008 release entitled "No Film" which sparked off dozens of successful shows throughout Manitoba including a performance at the Rockin' The Fields of Minnedosa annual rock festival. Read the reviews here...

Deon has also worked and performed with Remy Shand (Motown/Universal) and continues to help produce talent through his music production company, Nosey Mosquito Music Group. He also put together a group with The Guess Who’s Bill Wallace which performs occasionally across Canada.

And if Deon's stage antics and high energy rock show aren't your thing then 2009's "Mellow Hello" may be your drug. It's a collection of offbeat acoustic and piano tunes written mostly for publishing in TV and film. "I Don't Like Trains" is his personal favourite and was recorded at 3:00 am after a rough night out resulting in a dark kind of Leonard Cohen vibe. Check out some select tracks in the media player to your left.

Through his music and work with Nosey Mosquito, Deon aims to bring us back to our roots by reminding us of what he feels makes Winnipeg music great – taking risks. “We've forgotten how to do that because we’ve been pretending to be Van-Francisco far too long,” he says.

Perhaps it wasn't the computer that killed rock 'n roll after all. "The Computer Killed Rock n Roll" and other albums below for sale soon. Keep checking back or email deon@deonwysocki.com for more info. In the meantime, enjoy select tracks featured here.
