MHA Programs |
The MHA has the following programs in place for 2009 to introduce and promote "the perfect game". The introductory and development programs apply equally to girls, boys, women and men. Introduction to Handball: a program to introduce the game of Handball (four wall and/or one wall) at primary and secondary and high schools, and at community clubs around the Province. 2. Junior Development: a program to provide instruction and coaching to develop handball skills in all junior players that show interest in the Introduction to Handball program, or more senior players who request assistance in developing their game. 3. Handball Club Development: a program to promote the development of handball clubs at centres outside of Winnipeg and to provide assistance arranging for inter-club play. 4. Coaching Development: a program to identify Manitoba coaches for handball and to provide training to these individuals to Level 2 Coaching Certification. 5. Officiating Development: a program to identify MHA players with officiating abilities and interests, and to provide training to these individuals so that they can officiate to Level 3 Standards. 6. Fund Raising: this program, run by MHA member volunteers, consists of three components; bingo's, sale of entertainment books, and junior player tag days. |
