This Rifle Section contains: 7 Riflemen, a Bren Gunner and his " Number 2," and
a Section Leader with a Thompson sub-machine gun. Apparently, Canadian troops
liked the Thompson SMG and would readily use it if available. While heavier than
the Sten SMG, the Thompson was more durable and had better "stopping power."
The Thompson wasn't prone to breaking apart or accidentally firing if dropped
or handled too roughly either - a known problem for the Sten!
My thanks to Bolt Action for making British/Commonwealth figs with Thompsons!
Some pics of my Bolt Action figs from a recent
Manitoba Model Solder Society painting competition.
