Did you know...

  • The Guiness Book of World Records (2002) lists the Commodore 64 as the best selling computer model of all time at 30 million units. This might seem odd since there are obviously more PC's out there, but keep in mind a 386 is different from a 486, and an IBM manufactured system is different from a Compaq system.
  • Someone has developed the first Ethernet Card for an unexpanded c64.
  • Unix exists for an unexpanded Commodore 64. The project is called LUnix (Little Unix), and the newest version is called LNG.
  • There are over a dozen Commodore 64 related open source projects on Sourceforge. (Try searching for "Commodore 64" and "c64".)
  • You can obtain a free C cross compiler for the c64: http://www.cc65.org
  • A next generation Commodore 64 is about to be released! It's decadent, it's fast, it's fully c64 compatible and it's called Commodore One.
  • There are new games being released for the c64 even today.
    Protovision
    Covert Bit-Ops
    TND
  • There is a 3-d shooter that does pretty much everything Wolfenstein 3-d does, except it is at a much lower resolution. It also does a few things Wolfenstein didn't do, such as animation on the bitmapped walls. Check out Mood.
