Version History
Version 2.5 1. Substantial revision to the Edit Dialog. Events can be scheduled in 5 modes (Today Only, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly) and each recurring event can be set to recur by Date or by Weekday. (Example: A Monthly event can repeat on the 5th day of each month, or on the First Monday of each month. A Weekly event can repeat every Friday, or on the Second and Fourth Friday.)
2. Minor revision to some of the options in the Preferences Dialog.

3. Removed the ability to automatically transfer the user Event file.
Version 2.4 1. Fixed a serious problem where the Days of the Week were not displaying correctly on some systems in various regions around the world. This caused the First Day of the Month to show on the wrong day.
2. Added an extra line to the Message Popup box to indicate the number of days between the event and the current system date.
Version 2.3 1. Added ‘Menu Style’ to the Preferences Dialog so users can change the Style and Colour of all Context Menus.
2. All Context Menus now have icons.
3. Added ability to minimize DEP to the System Tray using Ctrl + Z or by Right Clicking the Compacted View or the In-Active Day.
4. Added ‘StartUp Minimized to Tray’ in Preferences/Settings.
5. Changed the Preferences Dialog so it has only 1 row of tabs instead of 2 making it easier to use.
6. Fixed a critical bug for Monthly Reminders when the Day of the Month did not exist. Example: February 30th.
7. Fixed a bug where the Reminder Image (Green Ball) did not display on the first day of the month if it was in the top leftmost position.
Version 2.2 1. Added ‘Show Clear All Confirmation’ to Preferences/Settings to enable or disable the confirmation message box.
2. Fixed 2 minor bugs that were changing the position of the planner on the Desktop.
Version 2.1 Added ‘Clear All’ to Context Menu making quick deletions simpler.
Version 2.0 (Available only as Shareware)
Several new features added...
1. Events can be added in 4 modes...
     Today only
Weekly (repeats every Sun, Mon, etc.)
Monthly (repeats every day of month)
Yearly (repeats every day of year)
2. Reminders about future Events...
     Every 1 - 31 days before
     Every 1 - 12 hours
     Every 10, 20, or 30 minutes
3. Quick Reminders... A limited set of Reminders that can be set easily without the use of the Reminders Dialog.
4. Set Reminders... A green or red ball icon appears in the day box to indicate a set Reminder.
A Message Box showing the settings appears when hovering over the icon.
5. Auto copy of previous users Event File... If a previous version of DEP was installed in the Default folder the Event File will automatically be copied to its new location. This solves the issue from version 1.5 where the location was changed and users had to manually copy the file.
Version 1.5 (End of Freeware)
1. Added a First-Time-User screen to assist with using DEP Preferences and Settings.
2. Also changed a few internal routines to make them more efficient.
Important:
The location of the user data file has been moved from the install folder, which is usually the “Program Files\RSS\Desktop Events Planner\” folder, to the “Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\RSS\Desktop Events Planner\” folder. This is important if you have events from a previous installation and would like to keep the Event Data. You should be able to copy the old file from the install folder to the new location.
The data files are named “username.dat”, where username is the name you use to log-on to Windows.
If you do this after installing a version greater than 1.4, and before entering new Events all your data will be maintained.
Version 1.4 Added a Special Setting to Preferences so user can make the Desktop Icon Text Background Transparent or leave it as the normal system colour.
Version 1.3 Fixed Date Comparison Routines. Canadians use a format (dd/mm/yy) that is different from some other countries (mm/dd/yy), etc. This fixed the routines where the display of events was not showing because the comparison failed.
Version 1.2 1. Added Message Box option.
2. Changed Event Data Entry to strip all leading and trailing non-printing characters.
Version 1.1 1. Changed some terminology in the Preferences Dialog to make it more understandable for all users.
2. Added 1 more tip to the Tips Dialog Box.
Version 1.0 First Public Release.
